If you register with this site you can upload your two lines here. To upload, use the "Add Attachment" link at the top of this thread.

Your profile needs to be enabled to allow uploads.

When you register I will be notified, at which point I need to update your profile to grant you the right to attach a file to this thread. Once that is done I will let you know and then you can upload your two lines here.

Alternatively, just upload them to YouTube as per normal, and send me the link, but it would be nice if we could keep it off YouTube to keep the element of surprise ;-)

I'll keep updating the opening comment to track who is doing what.

To make it easier to keep track of the clips - don't worry if yours is already uploaded - can new clips be uploaded using the name VXX where XX is the verse number? So SuperFlyNB would have uploaded his verse as V24.wav - the extension doesn't need to change. If yours is an MP4, make it VXX.mp4 etc.

Cheers

Pino

01 coughlan666:
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

02 nicanicabad:
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

03 cousinomacul:
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

04 JDRyder15:
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

05 FrodenOrange:
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

06 ThetaOmega:
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

07 bitchbutcher:
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

08 tiggeromega:
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

09 keithrockerboblewis:
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

10 RowanFortuneWood:
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

11 Rybot9000:
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

12 WizardJim:
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

13 eequalsfb:
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

14 lazyperfectionist1:
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

15 qwertyuiop726:
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

16 a2zdiy:
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

17 paxmax:
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

18 Brianswers:
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

19 Orygyn:
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

20 KyoraMishiso:
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

21 windham666:
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

22 Xenithan:
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

23 Namari12:
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

24 SuperFlyNB:
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

25 cozmikzen:
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

26 Nero777x:
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

27 teredona:
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

28 rozeboosje:
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

That's great, thanks!

From: RowanFortuneWood On: 2008/11/18 02:42:29
Okay, I’m done. Glad to see you’ve got almost all the couplets taken.

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/11/18 04:55:21
Fantastic!

Well, all the couplets are taken now. So anyone comes in after this will be listed as a backup. It's always possible that one of the takers can't make it in the end.

Hey Pino. I will do my part when I get home tonight from work

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/11/19 15:28:10
Excellent. Just excellent. Everybody who has contribued already, many thanks.

For new posters; can I ask you to try and stick to the meter:

ta-ta-ta-ta-TA-ta, ta ta ta ta TA ....

and don't rush the reading

To make it easier to keep track of the clips - don't worry if yours is already uploaded - but can new clips be uploaded using the name VXX where XX is the verse number? So SuperFlyNB would have uploaded his verse as V24.wav - the extension doesn't need to change. If yours is an MP4, make it VXX.mp4 etc.

Like I said, don't worry if you have already uploaded yours, I have already put them away safely and renamed them myself. (so, SuperFlyNB, I only used your video as an example to illustrate what I meant, you don't need to do anything).

If anyone feels they want to re-do their clip, that's fine too, but let me know; I don't get notified for Attachments so I wouldn't notice that you had replaced your file.

Pino

"so, SuperFlyNB, I only used your video as an example to illustrate what I meant, you don't need to do anything"

Thats ok... I usually don't lol

Wow - the second "bound" one is excellent. Thanks a million for re-uploading.

From: Send Carobit Mail Paxmax On: 2008/11/20 07:07:06
Video or audio what is prefered?

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/11/20 13:47:20
Video is preferred, thank you. Ideally of you in a Christmassy setting, wearing a Santa hat or something of that nature. If you don't like showing your face, I'd still prefer a Video, but maybe one of Christmas decorations with you doing a voiceover.

From: Brianswers On: 2008/11/21 05:53:20
I did one showing a santa doll. lol. I hope its ok, the only Christmassy thing I have in the house. :p

I posted it here, did it work?

From: a2zdiy On: 2008/11/21 15:33:43
Dear atheist friends,

I loathe cheerleaders, so it pains me deeply to have to do this.

With absolutely NO personal offense intended, I wish to throw down a bit of a challenge to my fellow participants. I have viewed the entries submitted thus far, (including my own,) and I wonder if we are really rising to what Pino asked of us.

As I recall, he wanted to demonstrate to the world how festive we atheists can be during the solstice. Now, I’m not going to suggest that anyone should sink any actual cash into this, but I’d bet that every one of us has at least one theist relative we could borrow some decorations from, for just long enough to make our videos.

In addition, how about let’s dress up a bit – forgive me, I have a wife & daughter, so I can no longer escape these issues. Potentially half of our viewers could be female, and they actually CARE about stuff like that, if you can imagine! ;-)

Of course, we are all free to represent the atheist community in whatever way suits us best, but I ask you as FOP, (Friends of Pino,) please consider accepting my challenge.

Take a little time, make a little effort, show some pride and creativity – (all my theist relatives live 3000 miles away, so I printed out some decorations to tape up as a backdrop) - I’m going to come up with something better, though, and I DON’T want to have the most festive clip, so I challenge each of you to outdo one another and yourselves to show the world some atheist fun!

As it stands, now, people could rightly comment that we lack a sense of festivity – let’s prove differently – IF WE CAN… BWAAHAHAHAHAA (wheeze, gasp,) HARRRR…

Much respect and love,
a2zdiy - Gordo

*sinister pipe organ music, and fade to darkness.*

From: WizardJim On: 2008/11/21 15:42:14
I reject thy challenge, a2zdiy, I shall not compromise my artistic integrity, when I upload my video it shall be as I always appear; a dishevelled, enraged, unshaven, postmodern hybrid of santa and satan.

From: Brianswers On: 2008/11/21 15:51:11
Trying to attach my file again.

@a2zdiy - I think mine looks ok. I dont have any relatives closer than 3000 miles either and no theists among them lol.

They do, however, decorate their houses. I'm just not there.

From: Brianswers On: 2008/11/21 15:52:10
Pino disregard nightbeforechristmas001. Thats my first upload I think.

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/11/21 16:43:05
Hi Brianswers,

Yeah, that worked a treat.

Great quality too!

From: a2zdiy On: 2008/11/22 00:29:37
Brianswers, I agree, yours is fine, and eequalsfb, I like your 'leaves' - very festive solstice decorations indeed.
WizardJim, thank you for being true to your inner artiste.
As I said: we are each free to represent the atheist community in whatever way suits us best... so whatever works for you is fine with me.

g'night all

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/11/22 05:21:55
Indeed. If you have the ability, of course it would be great to make the extra effort, especially if there is something you can do to improve the quality of video and especially sound. But if you can't, that's fine.

From: Send Carobit Mail KyoraMishiso On: 2008/11/29 15:58:34
Just uploaded mine. Sorry it took me a while.

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/11/29 16:12:33
No worries. No rush. Thanks a mill!

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/12/04 02:29:38
If you haven't uploaded your part yet, I now have to start asking people to not wait too much longer wink

From: Send Carobit Mail lazyperfectionist1 On: 2008/12/13 20:30:39
Okay, Pino.  I have uploaded my part.  I'm going to check back tomorrow to see if it will work or if you want me to make any changes and try again.

From: a2zdiy On: 2008/12/14 10:04:29
Hey Pino,

I just uploaded an update (called v16.) I know I'm pushing it, late-wise, but we just strung lights a couple days ago, and then it SNOWED last night - which almost NEVER happens here!
Anyhoo, if It's too late for inclusion, I'll just post this as  a reply video when you post the final work.

Cheers!

From: Send Carobit Mail Paxmax On: 2008/12/14 13:59:58
Ok, I uploaded my contribution...

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/12/14 14:52:59
Hey a2zdiy and paxmax. Nope it's not too late, the one with the snow is great, a2zdiy, and the ending on yours is excellent, paxmax!

From: Send Carobit Mail qwertyuiop726 On: 2008/12/14 15:32:50
Hi Pino,

Finally got around to finishing this! As soon as you enable my account to upload, I will do so.

Better late than never, eh? :)

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/12/14 16:10:06
Excellent! Thanks a million. Your profile is now enabled.

From: Send Carobit Mail qwertyuiop726 On: 2008/12/14 16:13:28
Okay, it's up now. Hopefully the quality is acceptable. Let me know if you'd like me to change anything.

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/12/14 16:24:09
Sound quality is excellent. I'll change the image though if you don't mind as it's going to be widescreen, and yours is narrow, but you don't need to do anything about that.

From: Send Carobit Mail qwertyuiop726 On: 2008/12/14 16:32:38
Great! Sorry again for my lateness.

From: Send Carobit Mail Pino Carafa On: 2008/12/15 14:44:00
No worries. I'm still waiting on a couple.
