There once was a poet named Theodor

Whose talent was brighter than many before

And when Mr. Geisel put paper to pen

He showed the world how to be one funny man

And so we were treated to stories and books

All written by none other than Dr Seuss

With great illustrations by Theo himself

His works adorn many a young kid’s bookshelf

The great man himself is long gone and dead

But he’s not forgotten, his books are still read

Read out at bed time, his stories still told

Enjoyed equally by the young and the old

So much do I like them that like a big boob

I decided to read some of them on YouTube

Out of nothing but love for the man’s grace and wit

That is why Rozey Read Seuss, and then paid for it

For you can imagine my sense of dismay

After I was presented a DMCA

It’s not like I feel that I was right to use them

Copyrights are only fair, don’t abuse them

So first thing I did when they DMCAed me

Was kill all the vids even though it upset me

But I didn’t set out to “steal” anything

But only Seuss’ praises I wanted to sing

I only intended to make folks aware

That beautiful poems like these are “out there”

And if, while I read stuff that was Copyrighted

It showed a big AD, I would just be delighted

Because, I STILL think that his works are a riot

And I DO still want people to know where to buy it

And that is the reason why I am offended

That their slapping me down had to be heavy handed

Dear Seuss Enterprises, I have one thing to say

Why must you treat your patron’s fans in this way?

I’m sure this is not how Seuss would have behaved

The man must be spinning around in his grave

In light of the Doctor’s philanthropic bent

Such actions are surely against his intent

The way you have handled this is but a farce

And Ms. Audrey Geisel can go kiss my arse
