The face skid was kinda funny, but the rest is pretty sad. Worst was that whoever filmed it was more interested in getting the footage rather helping a fellow human being. Or even getting laid with a drunk girl.

Social documentation?  It might be hard to help someone in that sort of state, what could have been done with her exactly?  You'd risk being accused of some sort of assault these days, or find someone appearing on the scene wanting to give you a beating.

Having said that though, I might have tried to help if I'd been there.

My mum once called an ambulance for a collapsed vomiting man, and he turned out to be suffering from diabetes.

I once saved a girl from getting her ass beaten by some guy out in the front of thier house, I mean he was beating the shit outta her, not just slapping her around. I took the guy out with a quick punch on the throat and a smack against a nearby tree, she started calling me every name in the book and then some, and then called the cops on me. I flagged down the cops and told them my story. I got threatened with an assualt charge and fleeing a crime scene, but since those 2 idiots had a long history of that sort of crap, they let me go with a warning.

I guess my point was, that irregardless that I nearly got arrested for helping someone, I would have still done it had I known and I would do it again.

and yea, that face-skid was classic, wasn't it.
i guess i'm a bitter child-of-alkie, but i don't think you can help an addict, nor should you try.  an addict has to look in the mirror and ask herself "what the fuck happened to my face?  oh shit, i've got to get help!!!". truthfully, "hitting rock-bottom" means death to some of them.  others look at their lives and admit that they don't have control over the demon and turn to ~fill-in-your-higher-power-here~ for help.
you can't help an addict get to that place, but you sure can help them avoid it.
sad doesn't even begin to describe it.
