A government misleading the public? I'm SHOCKED.

I remember being flamed for defending the french opposal to war with Iraq (on TOS). French gouvernment stating they had no proof of mad iraq stuff. France was treated all names etc. Now suddenly some journalists (who should have done their job more thoroughly to start with (let's say about five years ago) come up with this "news". Am I shocked? No. Am I disgusted with all al qaida stuff that emerged from it? Yes.

That must be one of those ‘exaggerations’. Faulty intelligence is to blame – not the reports, but the people. Too bad the Carobit conversation posted at the beginning of the invasion is gone. Im sure it would be interesting to read it again now, five years later. I feel now much as I did then except perhaps with a healthy bit more disdain for our fearless leaders.  Plus Ive had more than enough of this war on freedom.

Everyone was afraid of being labeled unpatriotic in a time of rampant jingoism. Patriotism is a great thing but it has been used too many times throughout history to quell dissent and further lies.

There are some that will say this is just liberal media lies. I imagine that it won't be till well after Bush and company are out of power, possibly after they are dead, that all the truth will come out on the lies, deception, shame and murder that this administration has brought upon the US and it's allies.

Well, the coalition countries (US and UK in particular) are now so far in debt thanks to overspending on such frivolities as the middle east firework show that we probably couldn't collectively afford a pea-shooter in the event that Luxembourg annexes its own Sudetenland. Hrrumph.

If you think Bush will be out of power after the next election, think again. No longer president, probably. But not out of power.

Bush and Co. won't be outta power til someone makes them accountable fro what they did and they lose their connections. That will take a few years, or it might not even happen til they are dead. But I imagine with all the wounded veterans with extensive weapons training that they are screwing coming home every day it won't be long before we get some sharpshooter that can still climb a water tower.
