There's a new movie coming out - Stardust.
There's a character named Lamia... triggered memories - barely.
I'm trying to remember a book I read as a kid that featured a Lamia....but can't remember. It would've been scifi. and if i read it as a kid, we're talking about 20 years ago... any fans of the genre trigger any memories?
I can't rememmber anything else at the moment.. it was the first time I ran into a lamia.. was a modern fantasy book...but that's it.

frustrating..

I'm a big sci-fi fan, but Lamia doesn't ring any bells.
Maybe if something else comes to mind.....

it's at the tip of my memory.... im' wondering if it was young teen scifi horror stuff... there was a series of books.. Twilight?

Some years back, I lost an entire box of my childhood books.. and I was so minddead when it happened - in shock - that I just threw the box out w/o recording the titles.. stupid - but I was in shock...

Hmmmmmm... Twilight sounds kind of familiar, but I wasn't much into the Fantasy side of the genre.

already did the general wiki and amazon searches - no go.
the Lamia was a character in a book - but the book wasn't called lamia. So irritating.. everytime i think of it.. i get memories of feelings when reading it..
I think the main character was a girl who had to fight the lamia.. i'm thinking it took place in modern times.. perhaps the girl transported somewhere/when?
or - i've read so many books, they're starting to cross...

but I remember the twilight books - really thin books and the twilight logo was in a purple diamond (?) at the top of the book. The books were unrelated... like harlequin has a logo at the top, but the books are unrelated (I think they are.. i haven't read them, if not, that's a HUGE series)..

ok - memory - the girl think is another book .. she has a demon in a necklace crystal... he was imprisoned by solomon... but I dont' know if the lamia is related to that book or not.
oh - i think the demon turns out to be solomons kid or something?

lamia: Classical Mythology. one of a class of fabulous monsters, commonly represented with the head and breast of a woman and the body of a serpent, said to allure youths and children in order to suck their blood.
