I have worked at places where all the jobs tickets I got were all marked URGENT!. The ones that caught my attention and got done first were the ones that weren't marked like that.

Yup. My sentiment exactly. Well..... Kind of.

If somebody logs 10 support calls and marks one as urgent, I'll certainly look at that one call. If someone else logs 5 support calls and marks them ALL urgent, they can go jump into a very deep lake.

the foundry i worked at in the 80's had a sign in the pattern department for when the salesmen came running in with the disaster-du-jour:
