Well, Arnold Schwarzenegger didn't show up but I was made redundant, which is probably the best option of a list of dubious choices. Whether I am ok or not depends on what I do next and there are a range of choices there. Working for that bunch has dulled my enthusiasm for the technology industry so I might consider some of my other interests for making a living. Thanks for your concern anyway.

By the way, I just had a nice two weeks in New York with my girlfriend. Twas lotsa fun 
Attended the week-long Jazz Conference in midtown Manhattan.

Yay Elijah - am really happy for you - jazz conference too! I did not know you played! It feels like so long ago I was in Manhattan, (had some good food with JKR from EE.) Did you get out to Broadway and such?

We didn't get to see any shows on Broadway with all that was happening at the Jazz Conference but we did see Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz Club. He is 92 and still playing.
We went to the top of the Empire State Building, took a Ferry to Staten Island (I don't know why, it was on her list of things to do), had a look at the WTC site (depressing), had a look at Grand Central Station and Central Park and discovered the joys of riding the subway.
We did a lot of walking around lower Manhattan, walked through Battery Park and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. That's the short version. We did a lot in two weeks and I really would like to go back for a longer and more relaxed visit. The first week was taken up by the Jazz Conference so any sightseeing we did was in the second week.
