In response to this video, mezaan put forward the following:

"there is a strong evidence contrary to what you claimed as "false color". For starters you can visit wikipedia link to Red_Rectangle_nebula"

See http://www.expe...losophy_Religion/Q_22495434.html

That is the first place I heard somebody propose an image of a Nebula to support the Qu'ranic term talking about a "rosy red hide":

http://www.answ...-christianity.com/red_galaxy.htm

You will find that the so-called "evidence" put forward on that page is an image of a Nebula. Does that look like the "red rectangle nebula" though? Nope. It's the Cat's Eye Nebula.

Yes, in that picture it does look red....

Look, here's another image of the same nebula: http://en.wikip...543_concentric_rings_cropped.jpg

Red? Nope.
Astronomical images can be taken in visible light, or even radio waves. Filtered or not filtered. But "as is" such images images often do not show much detail. So when the image is processed, colour is added to the image to enhance the contrast between different areas in the image and to highlight the features in which we are interested. That is known as "false colour".

But I can hear you spluttering again: "But now we DO have an image of a nebula that is actually red".

How can this now constitute any sort of evidence? Firstly, my original objection - that an image invisible to the naked eye can hardly be an illustration of a Qu'ranic verse talking about the heavens being torn asunder. But also, the evidence is now clearly massaged into fitting the verses as best as possible.

This is exactly how people always "prove" Nostradamus' predictions. And as evidence it is utterly inadmissible.

That is why my challenge is as it is: Predict something that science has yet to discover. State the required discovery here and now. For the record. It'll be sitting here with a time and date stamp against it. Then, when the discovery is actually made, you can point at this page and show how the Qu'ran did undeniably predict it.

Go on then.
