The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran," the official said. He also said the U.S. Naval presence in the Persian Gulf has for the first time in the past four years reached the level that existed shortly before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

Attack on Iran is eminent. Dick Cheney visits Saudi Arabia.

According to German news services, he was there conducting high-level meetings with the saudi sharia council and prepare national plans to deal with any sudden nuclear and radio-active hazards that may effect the Kingdom following potential attacks by the United States on Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power facilities. Large consignments of radioactive fuel to power those plants have been received by Iran from Russia.

President Bush said months ago that any speculation of US plans to attack Iran is "absurd".

To finance all this, US borrowed from China. They used Treasure Bonds for that. If I were China, I'd cash in all the Bonds in one day. America would be broke, and would never be able to recover from it. The world's economy would have a major setback. All this because of one stupid little warmonger. Borrowing from a communist country. Isn't that against his religion?

U.S. threatens Iran, President Bush warns of World War, and Iraq Update

March, 2008 Moscow: Amidst an exhaustive presence in the Middle East, the Pentagon has dispatched to the Persian Gulf, military war equipment and personnel, reaching levels that existed shortly before the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, as reported by Russian and German news sources.

President Bush has suggested that containing Iran is a necessary step in order to “prevent World War Three”. Vice President Dick Cheney’s Easter visit to the region, a purported peace mission and effort to gain control over rising gas prices, was reported by foreign press as having included high-level meetings in Saudi Arabia with the Saudi Sharia Council, to coordinate strategies and protect the nation from radio-active nuclear hazards that may threaten the Saudi Kingdom. Nearby, Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power facility is largely operational, now supplied with radioactive fuel by agreement with Russia who has delivered to Iran nuclear materials in a series of large consignments.

Russian Colonel General Leonid Ivashov said “the Pentagon is planning to deliver a massive air strike on Iran’s military infrastructure in the near future.” News reports out of Moscow said; "The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran," adding that the Pentagon has probably not yet made a final decision as to when an attack would be launched. He said the Pentagon is looking for a way to deliver a strike against Iran "that would enable the Americans to bring the country to its knees at minimal cost”.

In defiance of World Law prohibiting threatened use of force, Vice President Dick Cheney has openly threatened aggression against Iran, despite all evidence that Iran presently poses no danger to the United States. House of Representatives member Dennis Kucinich, formally introduced articles of impeachment condemning the Vice President; asserting Cheney is “fully aware” of these facts, and further accuses the Vice President of intentionally deceiving the American People and Congress by “fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction” prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.

A new U.S. carrier battle group; The “USS John C. Stennis”, with a crew of 3,200 and around 80 fixed-wing aircraft including F/A-18 Hornet and Superhornet fighter-bombers, eight support ships and four nuclear submarines are headed for the Gulf, to assemble with the “USS Dwight D. Eisenhower” already deployed since December 2006. The U.S. is also sending Patriot anti-missile systems to the region according to the Moscow report. Egyptian sources report an American nuclear submarine has crossed the Suez Canal to join with the U.S. fleet already in the Gulf.

Meanwhile, a unit within the US Treasury Department, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), issued a March 20 advisory to the world's financial institutions under the title: "Guidance to Financial Institutions on the Continuing Money Laundering Threat Involving Illicit Iranian Activity”. Simply stated, the measure, which had been condemned as “financial terrorism”, prohibits Iranian banks already sanctioned by the US in 2007 under anti-proliferation and anti-terrorism presidential executive orders 13382 and 13224, from doing business with financial institutions anywhere in the world.

On the ground in Iraq, General David Petraeus said; “no one in the U.S. and Iraqi governments feels that there has been sufficient progress by any means in the area of national reconciliation, or in the provision of basic public services." He went on to say the post serge troop reductions will be frozen to allow for a "period of consolidation and evaluation". He did credit an overall reduction in violence over the past year to a cease-fire called by Shia cleric and militia leader Moqtada Sadr. More recently, increased violance has been widly reported.

Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker are due in Washington within weeks to testify before the Committee on Foreign Affairs. U.S. Representative Robert Wexler has appealed to the American People, offering the public an opportunity to directly influence the national dialogue, and submit their own questions to the General concerning the situation in Iraq. Other Representatives in Congress have introduced legislation focused on reigning control over the open-ended Iraq occupation, and call for a safe and orderly Iraqi withdrawal.

President Bush, in response to questions from American reporters of a possible preemptive strike on Iran, dismissed the idea , saying any speculations “are absurd”. Yet, the President refused to rule out an attack saying; “All options are on the table”.

The chief of Russia’s general staff, Yuri Baluyevsky, said last November that Russia was beefing up its military in response to US aggression, but that the Russian military is not “obliged to defend the world from the evil Americans.”

With Russia’s stated intention to distance itself from the situation, all eyes are on America. The question is, will US Citizens voice any concern, take action to hold a complacent Congress accountable, and regain control of over an increasingly dominant Executive branch, or will we defer our responsibilities, with the expectation, the situation will be resolved for us and in our best interest.

I find it appalling that this is not a hot issue in the presidential campaign. Once more people are showing their true nature and focusing on themselves, in the form of a slumping economy rather than focus on the spectre of the *third* invasion by the United States of America.

New update:

Col-General Leonid Ivashov, who stated; "the Pentagon is planning to deliver a massive air strike on Iran's military infrastructure in the near future." The date of this quote was mistaken to be recent, when in-fact was originally reported by Ria Novosti March 27, 2007, and was not in regards to the current imminent threat. (1)

The threat of war against Iran persists nonetheless. Military planning as well as the buildup directed against Iran has taken place over a period of more than four years. Quoting official sources, Western media has confirmed the Bush Administration's war plans directed against Iran are "real" and should be taken seriously. According to official statements, "punitive bombings" directed against Tehran could be launched within the next few months. (2)

The article also stated; "the USS John C. Stennis, with a crew of 3,200 and around 80 fixed-wing aircraft, including F/A-18 Hornet and Superhornet fighter-bombers, eight support ships and four nuclear submarines are heading for the Gulf, where a similar group led by the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower has been deployed since December 2006."

In actual fact, the Stennis had returned to Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton on March 28, 2008, upon completion of sea trials following a massive re-fit. The nuclear vessel had received $240 million in upgrades, including on-board communications equipment increasing radio bandwidth, and enabling real-time video feed from deployed aircraft. Eight hundred fifty new computers installed, with classified and unclassified data systems, as well as weapons systems enhancements with extended range Sea Sparrow missiles (ESSM). The aircraft carrier will now head to San Diego to acquire its air wing division, bringing up the number of ship personnel to around 5,000 in preparation for its 2009 deployment. (3)

Speaking at a NATO summit in Bucharest on Wednesday, President Bush accused Iran of developing an intercontinental ballistic missile system with a range capability of more than three thousand miles, and threatens the security of the both the United States and Europe.

Iran’s military spokesperson rebuffed, saying; "Iran's military might has a strictly defensive nature and serves stability and security in the region … Such allegations are nothing but unreasonable and opportunistic attempts made by the American government to destabilize the situation.” (4)
